Our Founder
Rose Mary St. Angelo Breaux, RN, BSN, 1930-2006
Rose Mary S Breaux was firmly rooted in the New Orleans community, reciveing her RN Diploma from Hotel Dieu School of Nursing. She was deeply inspired by Florence Nightingale and her philosophy on caring for patients with dignity and respect in context of works of mercy. Rose Mary worked in hospitals in Med Surge and Peds, while continuing her nursing education. In 1978, she received her BSN from William Carey College and continued in graduate studies at Loyola University in New Orleans. At the heart of her work was her belief in treating the whole patient - Body, Mind and Spirit,- and the patient's family, under the direction of the physician. She was given the prayer card, pictured above, very early in her nursing career and used it as inspiration to help develop her ideal of nursing: to elevate nursing to the level of ministry. Rose Mary believed wholeheartedly that it is a privilege to be sent to a patient's bedside to serve them, their physicians and their families. In 2002, she was named a Great 100 Nurse of Louisiana. The National Nurses In Business organization iducted her into their Hall of Fame in 2005, citing her amazing journey as a Nurse Entrepreneur.
